Who we are
Amoeba Studio, Inc. (“Amoeba Studio”, “we”, “us”) operates this website, amoeba-studio.com. This policy explains what limited data we collect when you visit, and your rights over it.
What we collect
This is a marketing website. We do not have user accounts, and we do not run contact forms. We collect data in two narrow ways.
Analytics, only if you accept. If you accept analytics in our cookie banner, we use PostHog to understand how visitors use the site, which pages are viewed and which links are clicked. This may include your approximate location derived from your IP address and not stored precisely, your device and browser type, and the pages you visit. If you decline, none of this is collected and no analytics cookies are set.
Email you send us. If you email hello@amoeba-studio.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, so we can reply.
We do not collect special category data. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and our site is not directed at children.
Cookies
We only set analytics cookies after you accept them via our banner. If you decline, we store a single small record of that choice so we do not ask you again. That record is strictly necessary and carries no tracking. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in our footer.
Why we use it and our legal basis
We use analytics data to understand and improve the site. Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our legal basis is your consent, which you give by accepting in the banner and can withdraw at any time. We use any email you send us to respond to you, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. We share analytics data only with PostHog, our analytics processor, which processes it on our behalf. PostHog processes this data in the United States, so accepting analytics may involve a transfer of limited data to the US, carried out under appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose data where required by law.
How long we keep it
Analytics data is retained for 12 months and then deleted. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our records.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to object to or restrict its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@amoeba-studio.com.
If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to your local supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
